Meet Our Operations Team
Hallie Corbett, MS
Chief Operations Officer
I am excited to work at an organization whose core values align so closely with my own, and that breaks down barriers to provide access to the wellness services our community needs. I am passionate about finding creative and innovative ways to work towards operational excellence to improve the experience of both patients and clinicians.
I have a Master’s degree in College Counseling and Student Development, and have worked for both a small outpatient clinic, as well as a free-standing inpatient psychiatric hospital with mental health clinics across the metro. In my most recent role as a Practice Manager, I managed the professional services provided by 125 outpatient clinicians, as well as oversaw the centralized call center and front-desk reception teams.
I love spending time with my husband and two boys having nerf battles and playing laser tag in our basement. On the weekends you will catch me at the hockey rink watching my oldest son play while my husband coaches. I recently purchased a spin bike, and am addicted! I also love trying new restaurants with my family and friends.

Therapy is a relationship that can create lasting positive change in peoples’ lives. Often times, choosing to engage in therapy is one of the biggest steps in initiating the healing process. My mission is to meet you where you are in your current life condition, and to join with you on your journey toward self-improvement. Together we will work to create therapy goals that are inspired by your needs and aspirations.
For over a decade I have provided therapy services to adolescents, families, couples, and adults from diverse cultures and backgrounds with a wide array of mental health concerns. My therapeutic approaches include components of CBT, ACT, and humanistic therapy. My desire is to create a therapeutic relationship that is supportive, down to earth, and empowering you towards a better understanding of yourself. I believe people are at their best when they feel encouraged to grow and change in ways that benefit and improve their well being.
Emma Martin LaPlant, MA, LAMFT, CSM
Sr. Director – Operations
Emma is passionate about creating opportunities for everyone, regardless of background or identity, to access mental health and wellness services. Having a dedicated space to explore emotions, experiences, and behavior with a compassionate and competent therapist can foster incredible healing and growth. Emma especially resonates with the healing power of relationships, and value understanding how various systems influence a client and their family. In her position, she hopes to create the processes and spaces needed for Ellie therapists and service providers to meet the needs of their families through compassion, dedication, and authenticity.
Emma is thrilled to have the opportunity to apply her project management and change management skills at a company that shares her values and passions: to increase accessibility of mental health and wellness services by leveraging innovation, creativity, and technology. Emma’s goal is to bridge complex, multidimensional systems to create sustainable, equitable change that honors the inherent value of those involved. Ellie’s commitment to authenticity, creativity, and compassion lays a strong foundation for serving the needs of the community, adaptability to an ever-changing landscape, and supporting staff so that they are able to meet their clients with energy and compassion.

Asta Knoll is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Mortuary Science. She spent 10 years working in funeral service. It was during this time she became very interested in the mental well-being of people.
Asta believes that every person can benefit from focusing on their mental health; having a compassionate listener allows everyone to work toward being their best self. One thing she specifically likes about Ellie is the art therapy program, creating something is such a healing experience!
When she is not at work Asta loves to focus on creative outlets, indulges in nerd stuff (D&D and Star Trek, ya know?)-and tries to keep it kinda spooky year round. She’s also really into her orange cat, he’s very loud and friendly.
Director – Client Access Team
Shannon loves walking side by side with people in their journeys with mental health. She feels like the more we discover things about ourselves and find tools to help with difficult situations, the more we are able to normalize the false beliefs people can have about mental health.
Shannon says, “I think Ellie has an amazing family atmosphere, and the humor that plays a huge role in growth and wellness is perfect!”

What about mental health interests you?
The human condition! We can do so many things to take good care of ourselves but illness may still occur. I feel many undiagnosed mental illnesses go untreated because of the stigma associated with getting care. I want to connect potential patients and families to the ELLIE FAMILY!
Previously, Marilyn worked in Community Relations and Marketing for PrairieCare, prior to that I worked in mental health in the HealthEast Care System.
I’m excited to work for Ellie because I can authentically be myself! I feel the energy at Ellie and it’s a definite feeling of being connected to something magical!
Outside of work, Marilyn enjoys so many things but her favorite by far is cooking! She also has 2 big gardens with loads of veggies and flowers (together because why not?) She is an avid reader of memoirs and historical fiction. She loves yoga, running, racquet sports and weight training. She believes physical fitness and home cooked meals do wonders for mental health so she subscribes to those principles herself!
Medical Biller Manager
Prior to joining Ellie, Selina has experience doing Medical Billing for over 20 years. “And just when you think you know it all, you learn something new all the time. It’s exciting, as nerdy as that sounds. It’s the closest to investigative work that I’ll get without being a detective.”
Selina says, “I am very excited to get to work with such a wonderful group of clinicians and handle all of the companies billing needs. I am super passionate about Mental Health billing and making sure clients get the best coverage they can for the services they need.”
Outside of work Selina enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She has a dog that loves to go for long walks all the time! She’s been known to be a Netflix/Hulu junkie! Binge watching a good show is right up her alley.
Mental Health Compliance Manager/Internal Auditor
I’ve always been fascinated by peoples’ journeys and how it’s gotten them to where they are today. Everyone struggles with something at some point in their life, and going through the struggle is what makes you YOU.
I’m excited to be part of an amazing team of people who are passionate about helping others (even if it’s indirectly). I’m looking forward to helping make Ellie the best it can be for both clients & employees.
University of MN Duluth – BS Psychology
Creative Projects Manager
Having gone through my own struggles with mental health, I wanted to find a way to support others going through similar hardships. My goal is to always bring a smile to someone’s face and make the day a little brighter! Working in mental health felt like a natural way to feel like I am supporting someone as they navigate through life.
I am excited to work at Ellie and be part of an organization that is breaking down stigma and barriers to people getting the care they are seeking. Afterall, we are human. Each of us with our own story, and I think Ellie is approaching their care that way.

Clinical Licensure Supervision Program Manager, Therapist
Mamie is a charismatic therapist who is passionate about helping people to become the best version of themselves. She believes when dealing with life’s struggles, it is helpful to journey down the path towards healing with someone who can attentively listen, validate your experience and help contribute to your personal insight, all while understanding that you are the expert of your own life. As an art therapist, Mamie will implement these crucial aspects into therapy sessions with the use of creative processes. Art therapy allows clients to create tangible objects and provide language to situations where words may be lost. If art therapy is not something you are interested in, that is okay too!
Mamie offers traditional talk therapy and is trained in Adlerian therapy, which places strong emphasis on healing the whole self, encouragement and social interest, all while practicing the courage to risk imperfection. Mamie is grounded, compassionate and offers a calm presence. She places strong emphasis on forming an authentic connection with her clients in order to create a trusting and secure place for you to grow.
Mamie specializes in working with children and adolescents using art therapy. In addition to art therapy, Mamie enjoys incorporating play techniques and mindfulness skills in to each session. She is also interested in expanding her practice to include adults and whole families. Mamie has worked in diverse settings including schools, partial hospitalization programs and private practice. She is enthusiastic to contribute to and be part of the Ellie Family!
When Mamie is not working, she enjoys exploring the Twin Cities, playing board games with family and friends, and teaching her rescue dog new tricks.

I believe that a mindful-based approach towards mental health and wellness is fundamental to living a life that is meaningful and full of happiness. Realizing that we could all use a little help at some point in our life and knowing that it is OK to seek out resources should always be a positive experience.
I am looking forward to leveraging my technical background and experiences in the mental health services field and bringing that to Ellie.
